Tourism School
Griffith Business Schoolwas the first Australian business school to sign the United Nations principles of responsible management education. At our Department, we offer undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in event, hotel, hospitality, leisure, sport and tourism management.
On campus, our students enjoy world-class facilities. Off campus, they complete 250 hours of work experience as part of their degree. They gain hands-on experience through practical research projects, work-integrated learning programs, as well as exposure to real business networks through industry partners such as Gold Coast Tourism, Queensland Events, Conrad Jupiters, the Lexmark Indy 300, V8 Supercars, Surfing Queensland, the Brisbane Lions, leading international hotel chains etc.

Research & Industry Programmes
Griffith is a research intensive university with an international reputation and world-leading expertise in our 8Areas of Strategic Investment, of which Sustainable Tourism is one! Our research staff make highly significant contributions and find solutions that bring real and positive change to 21st century challenges and priority issues. We are also consistently successful in receiving awards and funding from Australian Research Council grants and other industry-based research funds.
Our research focuses on understanding how event, hotel, sport and tourism management and the roles they play in our lives. Through our research, we aim to contribute to sustainability, engender corporate social responsibility, influence social and government policies, and promote best practice in our field.
The Department have close ties with the:
·Centre for Tourism, Sport and Service Innovation acts as a focal point for innovative, quality research in tourism, sport, and service innovation. Research foci cover the environmental impacts and management of tourism, the management of visitors and resources in protected areas, the contribution of ecotourism to conservation and a range of related issues, including climate change and triple-bottom-line accounting.
We are also members of the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre, a not-for-profit company, which is helping Australia's tourism industry to become more dynamic, internationally competitive, and sustainable.
