The Australian School of Tourism & Hotel Management

The Australian School of Tourism and Hotel Management (ASTHM) established in 1989 and centrally located in Perth City alongside the leading hotel chains of the world, is one of Australia's most awarded Hotel Schools. The ASTHM campus is fully equipped with the most modern commercial and industry standard equipment, extensive reference and e-library and WiFi facilities. ASTHM offers a complete range of industry relevant and career focused courses for the hospitality and tourism industries.

Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel Studies

The Australian School of Tourism and Hotel Management strives to develop and nurture strong industry partnerships which enable industry to engage in current issues providing ongoing education pathways and professional development programs.

Paid industry placements are made by the course coordinators at ASTHM to ensure student's gain first-hand experience in leading hotels, resorts, tourism offices, travel agencies, convention centres, restaurants and other equally suitable hospitality and tourism establishments.

 

 Academic Excellence

ASTHM has appointed an Industry Education Advisory Board which comprises of a number of key industry leaders in Western Australia. The role of the board is outlined in distinct terms of reference with members meeting regularly and contributing to “curricula and professor for a day programs”.

ASTHM takes pride in being recognised for its outstanding contributions in the provision of excellence by the State and the industry as evidenced in the following awards received:

  • Silver Medallist of “Western Australian Tourism Award – Education and Training” in 2006
  • Winner of “Western Australian Tourism Awards– Education and Training” in 2003
  • Winner: “Tourism Training Australia Award - Best Practice in Training and Education for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry” in 2001, 2002
