Bernard Tan from Singapore was the successful applicant to win a THE-ICE Scholarship of Excellence to study the Bachelor of International Tourism & Hospitality Management at the School of Tourism, University of Queensland, a founding member of THE-ICE.
Bernard was determined to embark on an overseas education and interested in studying tourism management in Australia at an elite level.
Bernard said, "I found it difficult to finance an overseas degree in Australia. That was when I found the THE-ICE website on the internet and realised that it was one of the preciously few opportunities that an international student can get a scholarship in Australia."

Bernard commenced studies at the University of Queensland in semester 2/2007. He maintains an outstanding grade point average and is the recipient of several Dean's Commendations.
